Gwarcoed is a small Stud of quality Welsh Ponies and Cobs bred for type, temperament, and the ability to please under saddle, in harness and in the show ring.

  
 
History
 
 

The Stud was founded in 1978 with the purchase of the mare Tynant Brenhines Mai by Llanarth Flying Comet. She was joined by Caron Starlight by Pentre Eiddwen Comet and Chancerie Mist by Caradog Llwyd. Ionos Polly by Meiarth Royal Eiddwen followed. The Stud purchased Llanarth Valiants Image by Pentre Eiddwen Comet. Valiants Image was the first stallion to stand at Gwarcoed Stud.

Gwarcode Mattie   The Stud has always placed emphasis on breeding true-type old-fashioned Cobs with depth and substance, allied to straight action and good riding shoulders. We also look for pony quality and native hardiness in our stock.
